Indicators point towards another successful year for Batimatec

The 2010 edition of Batimatec, Algeria’s largest building and construction exhibition, will take place in Algiers, on 3-7 May 2010.

This year, there will be a new National Group from Morocco, alongside the returning groups from Belgium, France, Tunisia and Turkey. This demonstrates that there is a significant amount of continued interest in the Algerian building and construction market, despite the turbulent economic climate. In 2009, Batimatec featured 682 exhibitors, an increase of 26% from previous year. The organisers expect this figure to be even higher in 2010 due to strong interest from international companies.

International Event Manager, Kamran Mehdiyev, comments on the forthcoming event: “Algiers is an important economic, commercial and financial centre of North Africa, with a great deal of activity in the building and construction market. The prospects of long term growth are very attractive for suppliers from around. The pre-event indicators for Batimatec look very healthy, so I am anticipating another successful show”.

Batimatec has grown significantly since its launch in 1998, now covering all the major industry sectors, such as construction machinery and equipment, machinery for stone and marble, building materials, hardware and tools, heating and ventilation, sanitary ware, windows and doors, flooring, interiors, paints and decorative products.
